The section “Pravo” of the 17-th inter-university scientific student conference “Science and the New Generation — 2015” of the Eurasian Humanities Institute worked on 23-24 April of 2015. 76 reports were declared to participate in the conference. 40 reports were listened and discussed during the session, including 19 reports in the state language and 21 reports in the Russian language.

It should be noted that every year the representatives of the Universities of Astana and the cities of Kazakhstan participate in our student conference. For example, the L. N. Gumilev Eurasian Nnational University, the Kazakh Humanities and Law University, the Kozybayev North-Kazakhstan University and colleges of KazGUU and EAGI.

The section “Pravo” operated within two days in the period of the conference. The section was lively, with keeping time limit and with the high activity of the participants. The reports were distinguished by originality, globality and relevance to scientific issues. They discussed various legal aspects of modern jurisprudence, notably: the problem of criminal-legal and criminological aspects of economic crime and corruption, suppression of offenses in the sphere of administrative law, delinquency in the sphere of customs, legal consequences of non-compliance with written contracts according to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, socio-criminological problems of hidden crimes, the problems of labor legislation, labor issues, and the problems of the Institute of rehabilitation in criminal prosecution, etc.

Everyone had an opportunity to express his or her views on the reports, on the work of the section, on the organization of the conference.

No one stayed indifferent to the presented reports, and the questions asked after each presentation proved relevance and actuality of the reports. Preparedness and awareness on these report themes allowed the speakers to answer the questions correctly. The students expressed their opinions, discussed on especially problematic topics of the reports. Many participants used modern software technologies in their presentation (Power Point, Adobe Acrobat, ACDSee), that allowed to present text and graphic material in the most advantageous side. Not only students and undergraduates took part in the discussion, but also the teachers of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines, especially when discussing the new criminal code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where there were many issues linked to the introduction of new definitions and sections of the new criminal code.

Summarizing the quality of the reports and speeches of the conference participants, based on their relevance, originality, scientific validity and erudition of the speakers, the jury summed up the results of the section.

The results of the conference indicated that the students increasingly gained experience in preparing reports and speeches in front of an audience. The best works were marked with diplomas and published in the proceedings of the scientific student conference “Science and the New Generation-2015”.

On 16 November, 2015 at the Kazakh Humanities and Law University conducted the national debate tournament as part of the International youth legal forum “Protection of Human Rights in the context of Countering Terrorism” dedicated to the Human Rights Day. Students of the group ЮР-4-16 Nagaeva Elmira, Rybachuk Vladimir, Tassybaeva Zhansulu, ЮРС-3-5 Mukhametzhanova Zhanna participated in that forum and were awarded with the certificates.

Thus, it should be noted that the teachers of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines during the academic year successfully worked in involving students in research activities through the formation of the methodological culture, initial research skills, skills of working with scientific literature, analysis of materials. The achievements of students in research activities showed good results and set a trend for improvement in the future.
