Everybody must know this!

On 8-9 November 2017 at the Eurasian Humanities Institute there was delivered a lecture  on prevention of religious extremism and terrorism and also the prevention of drug addiction in the youth environment.

The invited lecturers were: the Head of the Department of management on combating  drug  trafficking of the DIA of Astana city the police lieutenant colonel Ilyinikh Serghey Sergheyevich; senior trainer on Thai boxing, President of the federation of Astana city on mixed martial arts Kabduov Dias; Chairman of the social youth movement “Karsy” Zhandildayev Bagdaulet.

Prorector of EAGI on educational work Ospanova Yaroslava Nikolayevna came up with a welcoming speech. In her speech she marked the importance of such meetings for personal self-determination of the students who in the course of the lecture will be able to learn the authentic information about the religious extremism, the ways of identification and elimination of the reasons of spreading destructive religious currents from the competent sources. Yaroslava Nikolayevna also told about the effective measures of prevention of drug addiction among the youth, identification and suppression of offenses connected with illegal drug trafficking.

The speeches of the guests were devoted to the factors of the negative influence of religious extremist currents and methods of involving the youth in terroristic actions. The lecturers called the outgoing threats of the adherents of the religious extremist organizations, called the students to the right understanding of the continuity of religions and traditions. There were also presented video clips, containing the material on preventing the drug addiction in the youth environment, to the students. The lecturers marked that prevention of substance abuse and drug addiction is first of all education and propaganda of a healthy and active way of life.

The lecture passed in the interactive regime, the students were active in asking questions and took part in discussing important problems concerning the nation’s health preservation. Such meetings are undoubtedly significant and necessary, they allow uniting the efforts to remind ourselves how dangerous the drug addiction is and that extremism is a global evil.
